How is Seresta used and what is the dose?

Seresta is available in a dose of 10 mg and 50 mg (Seresta Forte) tablets. The dosage depends on the age and nature of the complaint.
12 years and older: If there is anxiety, the starting dose is 10 mg, 3-4 times a day. This can go up to a maximum of 50 mg, 6 times a day if there is serious anxiety in combination with depression. In the case of sleep disorders, the dose is 15-50 mg once daily before bedtime. For alcohol withdrawal, the dose is 10-20 mg, 3-4 times a day.
Children up to 12 years:
Up to 6 years: 10-30 mg per day, spread over the day
From 6-12 years: 10-40 mg per day, spread throughout the day
This medicine must be taken with water.
When should you not use Seresta?
You may not use Seresta in the following cases:
- You are allergic to oxazepam or to one of the other ingredients in this medicine
- You are pregnant
- You are dealing with myasthenia gravis, an attack on the transmission of nerve impulses that has caused muscle weakness
What are the possible side effects of Seresta?
Seresta can cause side effects, but not every user needs to be bothered. These are the most common side effects that occur in particular in the first period of use:
- Daytime sleepiness, drowsiness, confusion, dizziness, decreased coordination Double vision
- Flattening of the feeling
- Muscle weakness
